About Rabbi Shawel

I was born in Newport News, Virginia in 1955. I attended the Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, Talmudic University of Florida and the Telshe Yeshiva College in Cleveland. I received rabbinical degrees from Ner Israel and Talmudic University. I earned a masters degree in education from Barry University in Miami. I trained as a circumcision specialist, mohel, in South Florida under Rabbi Dr. Tsvi G. Schur and at the Jackson Memorial Hospital.

I have been an active mohel performing Bris ceremonies since 1977. I performed the Bris for each of my three sons and recently for my three grandsons. Although most of my Bris ceremonies are in Dallas, Texas, I travel throughout the country. I have performed brisim in twenty of the United States and in Israel. Each and every ceremony is special, and I make every effort to make the event meaningful and memorable for the family and for all who attend.
